Presence where Mainland customers look
Visitors can find, follow and message your brand without leaving the app they use all day.
A WeChat official account Hong Kong companies can rely on starts with two decisions: whether WeChat is the right channel for your customers, and which account type Tencent will let you open. Sight Seeker answers both honestly, then handles the rest — registration through the overseas route, verification, custom menus, auto-replies, bilingual Simplified and Traditional Chinese content, and monthly reporting. Your account then works alongside your social media marketing instead of sitting idle after launch.

Built around the platforms your customers use

We connect technical foundations, Hong Kong search intent, useful landing-page content and conversion tracking—so the work is prioritised around business value.
Most people who live and work in Hong Kong message businesses on WhatsApp, not WeChat. If your customers are local, a WhatsApp Business API set-up will usually reach more of them. WeChat earns its place when your buyers are Mainland visitors, cross-border shoppers or customers based in the Mainland — people who already live inside WeChat and expect to find your brand there. We work out which group matters to you before anything is registered, so you do not pay for an account nobody opens.
This page uses its own service and audience journey, not a generic template.
We register, verify and run the account, and connect it to your website, payments and other channels so followers have somewhere to go next.

A WeChat account aimed at Hong Kong locals who actually message on WhatsApp.
Company names that do not match the documents, unclear scans or the wrong category.
The account name cannot be changed after verification, so a rushed choice stays for good.
A service account can send four mass broadcasts a month; with no content plan, most go unused.
Customer messages can only be answered within a 48-hour window, and slow replies miss it.
There are two separate costs: an annual verification fee set by Tencent and paid to Tencent directly, and our fee for registration, set-up and ongoing management. We quote our part by scope, with every item listed — the same way we price social media marketing.
What shapes the quote?
Registration only, or menus, replies and templates as well.
An annual fee set by Tencent, paid by you directly and renewed each year.
How many articles a month, and whether both Simplified and Traditional versions are needed.
Mini Program, WeChat Pay merchant link-up or CRM connection through the API.
Ad budgets and KOL fees, which are separate from our management fee.
Five steps, starting with a free consultation about who your customers are and where they message you.
We confirm WeChat suits your customers and choose the account type.

Sight Seeker is a Hong Kong agency that will tell you when WeChat is the wrong channel — and run it properly when it is the right one.
WhatsApp for Hong Kong locals, WeChat for Mainland customers, or both.
One team for the paperwork and the months of content after it.
Articles written for Mainland readers, not just converted character by character.
The account links to your website, WhatsApp, social media and payments.
Consider a Hong Kong skincare shop where many walk-in customers are Mainland visitors. They ask about restocks and delivery after they go home, but the shop only offers WhatsApp, which many of them do not use.
A verified service account with a shop QR code at the counter, a menu for product lists and delivery questions, and a monthly broadcast about new arrivals would give those visitors a way to stay in touch. Tagged QR codes would show which counter brings in followers — part of a wider retail marketing plan.

It costs an annual verification fee set by Tencent, plus any agency fee for preparing and managing the account. Tencent sets and can change its fee, so check the current amount on the Official Account Platform. We quote our registration and management work separately, by scope.
A Hong Kong company applies through the overseas-entity route on the WeChat Official Account Platform, which generally means opening a service account (服務號). You will usually need company documents, business registration, the operator's ID and an application letter. The exact list is set by Tencent and can change, so we check it before submitting.
A service account (服務號) is built for customer service and sends up to four mass broadcasts a month, with menus, templates and API features. A subscription account (訂閱號) is built for frequent publishing but is generally not open to overseas entities, including Hong Kong companies. For most Hong Kong businesses the service account is the practical choice.
Customers follow an official account by scanning its QR code, searching its name in WeChat, or tapping the account name on one of its articles. Placing the QR code at your counter, on receipts and on your website is usually the fastest way to grow followers.
Individuals in Hong Kong usually activate WeChat Pay HK inside the WeChat app by linking a Hong Kong bank card and verifying their identity. Businesses accept WeChat Pay through a merchant account from WeChat Pay or an approved payment provider, which can then be linked to an official account. Eligibility and steps are set by the provider.
Yes, WeChat works in Hong Kong, and registration and support are handled online, so there is no office to visit. For customers who live in Hong Kong, WhatsApp is usually the better channel; WeChat is worth it when you serve Mainland visitors, cross-border buyers or Mainland-based clients.
Tell us who your customers are and where they message you. We will tell you whether WeChat, WhatsApp or both make sense — in a free consultation.
